Spring (late April to mid June)
Spring is an amazing time to be in Yellowstone country! In April through June, flowers are blooming, babes are
being born, and there is an energy in the air that celebrates the survival of winter and anticipates the longer days and easy living that comes during the snow-free months.
Yellowstone opens the third Friday in April for the summer season. We provide tours throughout the Park that highlight the best of spring, including the newborn animals, returning migratory animals, and the amazing mountain wildflowers that are prevalent in late spring and early summer.
Take a look at the variety of options we offer for exploring Yellowstone country
during the spring. This is a time when few people are here but there is an incredible variety of things to do and see - We'll show you why this is one of the best times to be in Yellowstone!
Fall (September - November)
Find out why the fall is a local favorite! Limited crowds, active animals, beautiful soft fall light enhanced by colorful sunrises and
sunsets. The photo opportunities can't be beat!
From September until November's closing, we provide tours throughout the Park that highlight the best of fall, including opportunities to see bull elk and bison during the rutting (mating) season, beautiful fall colors, and limited crowds. Animals are generally more active during the mornings and evenings, and the shorter days of fall create more opportunities to view them as they prepare for the coming winter. Yellowstone closes the first Monday in November for the winter season.
Our guides know animal behavior and movement patterns, a knowledge that comes from a passion for the animals and from living and working in the Yellowstone area. We'll take you to the best places for seeing animals during your time here.
